This early 8 Reales cob from Mexico is an incredible piece of history recovered from the shipwrecks of the 1715 Fleet. The 1715 Fleet was a group of treasure ships that sank off the coast of Florida during a hurricane on July 31, 1715. These ships were loaded with gold, silver, and gems taken from the New World heading back to Spain with hopes of boosting the economy. A real piece of treasure with historical significance that altered nations. Oversized NGC holder. Very nice example with assayer mark J visible. Great detail on shield and cross.
