Absolutely gorgeous example of this Netherlands ducaton recovered from the Vliegenthart shipwreck. The Vliegenthart was a Dutch East Indiaman ship which sank off the coast of Zeeland, Netherlands in 1735 en route to Batavia. The ship sank after striking a sandbank resulting in the death of all 461 people on board. The wreck site was discovered in 1981. Stunning coin with great details remaining on both sides with rich patina and little evidence of saltwater damage. Difficult to find this nice with eye appeal. The pictured COA is included with this coin.
