New Jersey Colonial Note Fr#NJ-198 January 9, 1781 3s9d PCGS 35 *David Brearley Signature*
This scarce late issue New Jersey note features the New Jersey State seal on the front. There is a sage leaf nature print on the reverse, which is common in other New Jersey issues, but interestingly the stem of the sage leaf is pointing to the right, where in all other issues it points to the left. This note was printed by Isaac Collins in Trenton New Jersey on watermarked paper. Scarce note in wonderful problem free condition. Of the 20,000 originally printed, only 12 are known to survive today. Additionally, this note boasts the signature of David Brearley. Brearley was an American Founding Father and signer of the United States Constitution, adding significant value to this already rare bill. Please note the flaws of the PCGS slab.
