Lovely Tiberius II Constantine Solidus in uncirculated condition by NGC with a 5/5 strike. Tiberius II Constantine was a good friend of his predecessor Emperor Justin II. He controlled the Empire since 574 under Justin II when he went insane, and became true Emperor in 578 upon the death of Justin II. He was also known for giving away 7,200 pounds of gold each year during his reign with hopes to increase his popularity. The military was active under his rule, making peace with Spain and dereating the Berbers in North Africa. He was known as a relatively good and well liked emperor.

Struck in high karat gold, the obverse of this Solidus depicts a bust of Tiberius II Constantine wearing an ornate crown and holding a cross topped globe and shield. The reverse features a cross potent set upon four steps. The mintmark CONOB can be seen at the bottom. Lovely mint state example with nice centering and a fantastic strike with flashy lustrous fields.
