Interestingly, the colony of Connecticut prohibited the circulation of money from other colonies with few exceptions until June 1776. This 2 Shillings, 6 Pence note was interest bearing and slash or hole cancels were common for this issue. This example is contemporaneously sewn, but has nice details remaining on the front and back. Only 9 examples are known to survive today.
