The November 29, 1775 Continental issue was redeemable for Spanish milled dollars. This $3 note features an emblem of an eagle and heron fighting. This emblem is encircled by the latin motto “EXITUS IN DUBIO EST” (The outcome is in doubt). The reverse features nature print of skeletonized elm and maple fruit. Additionally, this note bears the signature of John Bayard. Bayard was a member of the Continental Congress, and a Colonel in the Continental Army. Incredible note for the price with nice eye appeal for a VF and the signature of an important Founding Father. Previously a part of the extensive Dr. O’Shaughnessy Continental Collection.
