Continental Currency Fr#CC-20 February 17, 1776 $1/3 PCGS CU-63 *Fugio Note*

$2,250.00

The fractional denominations of the February 17, 1776 Continental issue are often referred to as Fugio notes. These notes precede and share a design with the iconic 1787 colonial copper Fugio cent. The sundial rebus can be seen on the front and the linked colonies on the reverse. Both of these devices were designed by Benjamin Franklin and prepared by Elisha Gallaudet. Incredible uncirculated example with strong crisp paper and bold ink. Incredibly difficult to find in uncirculated condition and an elite addition for any colonial collection.
