Comments: “Minor Stains”
The fractional denominations of the February 17, 1776 Continental issue are often referred to as Fugio notes. These notes precede and share a design with the iconic 1787 colonial copper Fugio cent. The sundial rebus can be seen on the front and the linked colonies on the reverse. Both of these devices were designed by Benjamin Franklin and prepared by Elisha Gallaudet. The light stains are not majorly distracting. Absolutely gorgeous AU example of this popular note with crisp paper and lovely color. Exceptionally bold printing throughout and a red ink signature that pops. Tough to find this nice, a lovely addition for any high end colonial collection.
