Continental Currency Fr#CC-21 February 17, 1776 $1/2 PMG 53 *Fugio Note*
The fractional denominations of the February 17, 1776 Continental issue are often referred to as Fugio notes. The sundial rebus can be seen on the front and the linked colonies on the reverse, both of these devices were designed by Benjamin Franklin and prepared by Elisha Gallaudet. Exceptional example with strong paper, rich ink throughout, and bright red signature and serial. The paper has incredible embossing with the reverse rings printing through the front of the note. Tough to find in such high grade and eye appeal. A nice addition for any elite collection.
