This $1 bill from the February 17, 1776 issue features an emblem of a weighed bowl on an acanthus plant. The emblem is surrounded by the Latin motto “DEPRESSA RESURGIT” (Though crushed it recovers). The reverse has nature print of ragweed and two willow leaves. Desirable $1 denomination. Additionally, this note was signed by John Williams. Williams was an American Founding Father, member of the Continental Congress, and signer of the Articles of Confederation. Williams also served as a colonel in the North Carolina militia and was a founder of the University of North Carolina. Gorgeous near uncirculated note comment free from PMG. Tough to find this nice.
