The February 17, 1776 Continental issue was unique in that is included 4 fractional denominations. This $3 note features an emblem of an eagle and heron fighting. This emblem is encircled by the latin motto “EXITUS IN DUBIO EST” (The outcome is in doubt). The reverse features nature print of skeletonized elm and maple fruit. Very attractive problem free VF note with nice signatures. Previously a part of the extensive Dr. O’Shaughnessy Continental Collection.
