Continental Currency Fr#CC-46 July 22, 1776 $30 PMG VF-30 GCC Gold *Scarce Issue*

$795.00

The popular July 22, 1776 issue was authorized shortly after Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, the $1 denomination was eliminated from this issue, likely due to rising inflation in the midst of war. This $30 note features an emblem of a wreath on a tomb. This emblem is encircled by the latin motto “SI RECTE FACIES” (If you act righteously you will be honored after death). The reverse uniquely features 2 emblems of a strong wind creating waves and a beautiful sun shining on ships at sea. The first emblem was designed by Benjamin Franklin and is encircled by the latin motto “VI CONCITATE” (Driven by force). The second is encircled by the motto “CESSANTE VENTO CONQUIESCEMUS” (When the storm dies down we will rest). Absolutely gorgeous problem free example with original color and rich ink. Exceptional eye appeal for the grade which is fortified by the gold sticker from GCC.
