The November 2, 1776 issue was proposed to print fractional denominations but this never happened due to the fugio notes from 2/17/1776 providing adequate supply. This $3 note features an emblem of an eagle and heron fighting. This emblem is encircled by the Latin motto “EXITUS IN DUBIO EST” (The outcome is in doubt). The reverse features strong nature print of skeletonized elm and maple fruit. Beautiful example for the grade with choice original eye appeal, well deserving of the elusive gold sticker from GCC.
