Continental Currency Fr#CC-50 November 2, 1776 $5 PMG VG-10

$195.00

The November 2, 1776 issue was proposed to print fractional denominations but this never happened due to the fugio notes from 2/17/1776 providing adequate supply. This $5 note features an emblem of a hand gathering food and dripping blood due to thorn pricks. This emblem is encircled by the symbolic Latin motto “SUSTINE VEL ABSTINE” (Either survive or give up). The reverse features bold nature print of betony and sage leaves. Solid details and signatures remain for the grade.
