The Continental Congress met in Baltimore from December 20, 1776 to February 27, 1777 because Philadelphia was occupied by British forces at the time. This $8 bill features an emblem of a 13 string harp with strings of different sizes representing the 13 colonies. The Latin motto “MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT” (The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony) encircles the emblem. Decent lower grade example.
