This note is a part of the “Baltimore Issue”. This issue was passed by the Continental Congress on February 26, 1777 in Baltimore. The Congress met in Baltimore from December 20, 1776 to February 27, 1777 because Philadelphia was occupied by British forces at the time. This $30 bill was the highest denomination of the issue with 2 striking emblems on the reverse. Beautiful bold ink and signatures with crisp paper, well deserving of the EPQ designation from PMG.
