This strikingly uncirculated $40 bill from the September 26, 1778 Continental issue features an emblem of the rays of an all-seeing Eye of Providence shining on 13 stars representing the colonies surrounded by the motto “CONFEDERATION”. This emblem was designed by Francis Hopkinson, an American founding father and signer of the Declaration of Independence. The reverse has nature print of carrot leaves. Absolutely gorgeous example with light paper, bold ink, and strong signatures. Incredible example and tough to find in choice uncirculated by PMG.
