The September 26, 1778 issue featured new $50 and $60 denominations. It also marks high inflation in colonial times due to $75,000,000 in bills authorized and the release of these higher denominations. This $60 note features an emblem of the Earth. This emblem is encircled by the latin motto “DEUS REGNAT EXULTET TERRA” (God reigns, let the earth rejoice) (From Psalm 97). The reverse features a unique print of a bow.
