The September 26, 1778 issue featured new $50 and $60 denominations. It also marks high inflation in colonial times due to $75,000,000 in bills authorized and the release of these higher denominations. This $60 note features an emblem of the globe. This emblem is encircled by the Latin motto “DEUS REGNAT EXULTET TERRA” (God reigns, let the earth rejoice) (From Psalm 97). The reverse features a unique print of a bow. The stain on the front is as made ink from the printing process. Solid VF example with light paper and strong signatures.
