Date: March 1, 1758
Denomination: 20 Shillings
Friedberg #: DE-52
State: Delaware
Certification: PMG & GCC
Grade: Fine 15, GCC Green
Comments: None
This early 1758 bill was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. “Printed by B. FRANKLIN” can be faintly seen along the right side of the reverse next to nature print. Additionally, there is faint print of a lion at the top of the reverse. The front shows 4 crowns, each representing 5 shillings of value. This 1758 issue is far more difficult to find than the more common 1759 issue. Only 4,000 Pounds worth of bills were printed in the March 1, 1758 issue. Gorgeous 20 Shilling bill with lovely detail remaining on the face, bold ink and decent signatures. It is unfortunate that the back printing is not stronger. Nonetheless, tough to find comment free, and the quality of this note for the grade is fortified by the GCC Evergreen sticker.
Signers: David Hall, William Armstrong, Thomas Clark
