Delaware Colonial Note Fr#DE-84 May 1, 1777 9d PCGS GEM 66 PPQ GCC Green

$1,375.00

This 1777 Delaware bill features the beautiful new State Arms and intricate borders containing the denomination engraved and printed by James Adams. The reverse features a large sheaf of wheat with “To Counterfeit is Death” beneath and ornamental borders. The 4 lowest denominations, such as this 9 Pence bill were smaller in size than the higher denominations. This low denomination bill is sneakily scarce, of the 5,455 originally printed, only 26 are known to exist today. Stunning GEM example with crisp paper and rich ink. Well deserving of the PPQ designation from PCGS and evergreen sticker from GCC.
