The purpose of the September 10, 1777 Georgia issue was to support the Continental Troops. “This CERTIFICATE, for the Support of the Continental Troops, and other Expenses of the Government…” can be read across the front. This bill features red and black ink with a bold dark blue seal. The seal features a Liberty Cap encircled by the latin motto “LIBERTAS CARIOR AURO” (Freedom is more precious than gold). PMG notes a couple of comments, which are un-distracting. Incredible uncirculated example coming in as the finest known example, top pop.
