Interestingly, the May 4, 1778 Georgia issue was funded by the proceeds of captured Tory estates. This note was printed in Savannah by W. Lancaster in red and black ink with a typeset design and ornamental boarders. This note also has a gorgeous greenish blue seal of a rattlesnake encircled by the latin motto “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET” (No one will provoke me with out impunity). This motto is also repeated on the reverse of this note in red ink. Incredible example with massive margins, light paper and very bold ink/seal. PMG notes a repair which appears to be on the upper margin, only visible when held up to light. This note also boass the signature of William Few, an American Founding Father and signer of the United States Constitution.
