Interestingly, the May 4, 1778 Georgia issue was funded by the proceeds of captured Tory estates. This note was printed in Savannah by W. Lancaster in red and black ink with a typeset design and ornamental boarders. This note also has a gorgeous greenish blue seal of a rattlesnake encircled by the latin motto “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET” (No one will provoke me with out impunity). This motto is also repeated on the reverse of this note in red ink. Nice example with bright paper and strong ink.
