Georgia Colonial Note Fr#GA-122 May 4, 1778 $20 PMG VF-35 *William Few Signature*

$2,150.00

Interestingly, the May 4, 1778 Georgia issue was funded by the proceeds of captured Tory estates. This note was printed in Savannah by W. Lancaster in red and black ink with a typeset design and ornamental borders. This note also has a gorgeous bluish green seal of a rattlesnake encircled by the latin motto “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET” (No one will provoke me with out impunity). This motto is also repeated on the reverse of this note in red ink. Fantastic eye appeal on this near XF note. Additionally, this note was signed by William Few. Few was an American Founding Father, Revolutionary War officer, and signer of the U.S. Constitution. An elite note worthy of the advanced collector.

Signers: William Few*, Thomas Netherclift, Richard Wylly, William O’Bryen, Nehemiah Wade
