Georgia Colonial Note Fr#GA-71e 1776 $1 Blue-Green PMG 20 *10 Known*
This 1776 Georgia note features ornamental borders plus a red and black typeset design. There is a blue-green seal of Justice encircled by the latin motto “SUSTINE RECTUM” (Support what is right). This seal was applied by a separate overprinting during the manufacture of these notes. This blue-green variety is the scarcest of the 1776 $1 bills and interestingly has a totally different orientation compared to the blue and orange varieties which are larger in size and have different borders. Only 10 examples are know to exist.
