This 1776 Georgia note features ornamental borders plus red and black typeset. There is an orange seal of a mill stone on a palm tree encircled by the latin motto “OPPRESSA SURGIT” (After being crushed it rises). This seal was applied by a separate overprinting during the manufacture of these notes. Lovely example with attractive eye appeal for the grade and incredibly scarce with only 12 examples known to exist. This note was a part of the prestigious Eric Newman Collection.
