The June 8, 1777 Georgia issue was the first Georgia note to be payable in Continental Currency rather than Spanish milled dollars. The purpose of this issue was to support Continental troops. This wholesome fractional note features ornamental borders with an array of different ornaments surrounding the note and denomination at the lower right. Nice example for the grade with a low serial number of 53 and very tough to find in problem free condition. Incredible scarce with only 4 known to survive today.
