This very early large-sized remainder was printed primarily for the creation of a loan office and to purchase stock in a Bank of England sinking fund. These bills were also used to prevent the production of poor tobacco. 30 Shillings in these bills were paid to each person who burned 150 pounds of tobacco in 1734 and 1735.
