This incredibly early large-sized remainder was printed primarily for the creation of a loan office and to purchase stock in a Bank of England sinking fund. These bills were also used to prevent the production of poor quality tobacco. 30 Shillings in these bills were paid to each person who burned 150 pounds of tobacco in 1734 and 1735. This note was printed in England on thin paper watermarked “MARYLAND”. Beautiful large and early note with crisp light paper. Scarce and extremely early note that does not come up frequently.
