Gorgeous 1777 War bond from the colony of Massachusetts Bay. This certificate was used to fund the Board of War for the colony. There is a seal pressed over the denomination to prevent alteration. The seal depicts a tree and 2 clasped hands encircled by the Latin motto “DAT VIRES UNIO” (Give strength to the Union). Beautiful example with ornamental boarders and light paper watermarked “GR” . Bold ink and signatures, free of problems.
