This incredibly rare Massachusetts note from the May 25, 1775 issue was engraved by Paul Revere on copper plates. Interesting format with a typeset design and neat emblem at the top left “Colony of the Massachusetts Bay” and a partial vignette remaining which would have a MBC (Massachusetts Bay Colony) monogram with “American Paper” below. Printed on watermarked paper with a crown and GR (Georgius Rex). Revere also engraved a similar style note for the colony of New Hampshire dated 6/20/1775. Very scarce survivor, of 4,333 18 Shilling bills originally printed, only 7 are known to survive today. Incredibly neat type engraved my an American legend that rarely comes available.
Signers: Abraham Fuller, Henry Gardner
