This 2 Shilling/4 Pence bill from the June 18, 1776 Massachusetts issue has a minimalistic typeset design with ornamental borders with various symbols throughout the note. Printed on course paper with a blank back by Benjamin Edes. Notes with denominations less than 6 Shillings are small in size compared to higher denominations. Low survivability, of 8,000 originally printed only 12 examples are known to exist today. Lovely XF example of this scarce and desirable 1776 Massachusetts issue, incredibly difficult to find graded above VF and with such strong ink. Fills the tough Massachusetts spot if trying to complete a 1776 thirteen colony set.
