This 4 Shilling/4 Pence bill from the June 18, 1776 Massachusetts issue has a minimalistic typeset design with ornamental borders with various symbols throughout the note. Printed on course paper with a blank back by Benjamin Edes. Notes with denominations less than 6 Shillings are small in size compared to higher denominations. Low survivability, of 8,000 originally printed only 9 examples are known to exist today. Very nice problem free example of this scarce and desirable 1776 Massachusetts issue. Fills the tough Massachusetts spot if trying to complete a 1776 thirteen colony set. Well deserving of the Gold sticker from GCC.
