Massachusetts Colonial Note Fr#MA-255 October 16, 1778 3d *Paul Revere Codfish*
This bill is known as a “codfish” note because of the codfish present at the top center of the face. The more ornate face of this note was engraved and printed by Paul Revere and the pine tree reverse was printed by Thomas Fleet in Boston. Paul Revere also re-dated the face to 1778, reusing the copper plates from the October 16, 1776 issue. Very nice example with clear ink and legibility. There is a small hole cancel.
