$1,350.00

The notes of the Massachusetts 1779 issue featured an updated face that was engraved by Paul Revere with a sun with the motto “Rising” beneath. This is a symbol alluding to our nation rising above Britain. The reverse features the pine tree seen in previous codfish issues. Paul Revere printed and engraved the face of this note and the pine tree reverse was printed by Thomas Fleet of Boston. Scarce and highly sought after note printed by an American legend. Of the 9,411 originally printed, only 27 are known to exist today. Wholesome problem free example with fantastic detail on the sun vignette. A must have for any colonial currency collection.
