Massachusetts Colonial Note Fr#MA-270 1779 3s PMG VF-20 GCC Green *Paul Revere Sun*

$1,585.00

The notes of the Massachusetts 1779 issue featured an updated face that was engraved by Paul Revere with a sun with the motto “Rising” beneath. This is a symbol alluding to our nation rising above Britain. The reverse features the pine tree seen in previous codfish issues. Paul Revere printed and engraved the face of this note and the pine tree reverse was printed by Thomas Fleet of Boston. Scarce and highly sought after note printed by an American legend. Of the 9,411 originally printed, only 22 are known to exist today. Wholesome VF example with fantastic detail throughout and eye appeal. Well deserving of the green sticker from GCC. A must have for any colonial currency collection.
