Massachusetts Colonial Note Fr#MA-273 1779 4s6d PMG 55 *Paul Revere Rising Sun*

$1,695.00

The notes of the Massachusetts 1779 issue featured an updated face that was engraved by Paul Revere with a rising sun. This is a symbol alluding to our nation rising above Britain. The reverse features the pine tree seen in previous codfish issues. Paul Revere printed the face of this note and the pine tree reverse was printed by Thomas Fleet of Boston. Scarce and highly sought after note printed by an American legend. Spectacular AU condition with an interesting hole cancel which is very odd to see on this issue. Difficult to find this iconic note in such condition. A key note for any colonial collection.
