Massachusetts Colonial Note Fr#MA-276 1779 5s4d PMG 25 *Paul Revere Rising Sun*

$1,350.00

The notes of the Massachusetts 1779 issue featured an updated face that was engraved by Paul Revere with a rising sun. This is a symbol alluding to our nation rising above Britain. The reverse features the pine tree seen in previous codfish issues. Paul Revere printed the face of this note and the pine tree reverse was printed by Thomas Fleet of Boston. Scarce and highly sought after note printed by an American legend. Of the 9,411 originally printed, only 18 are known to exist today. Lovely VF example with fantastic legibility throughout. A key note for any colonial collection.
