Massachusetts Colonial Note Fr#MA-283 May 5, 1780 $7 PMG UNC-62 EPQ GCC Gold *Exceptional*

$335.00

This later issue Massachusetts note was redeemable in Spanish milled dollars by December 31, 1786 with 5% interest. The exchange rate for these bills was $40 in older Continental Currency for every $1. Printed on “UNITED STATES” watermarked paper in red and black ink by Hall and Sellers with a similar style to Continental Currency, especially the emblems on the reverse. Additionally, this bill bears the signature of Loammi Baldwin, a Revolutionary War colonel, politician, and the father of American Civil Engineering. Stunning uncirculated example with crisp light paper and fantastic ink/signatures. Well deserving of the elusive gold sticker from GCC.
