The exchange rate for these bills was $40 in older Continental Currency for every $1. Printed on “UNITED STATES” watermarked paper in red and black ink by Hall and Sellers with a similar style to Continental Currency, especially the emblems on the reverse. Additionally, this bill bears the signature of Loammi Baldwin, a Revolutionary War colonel, politician, and the father of American Civil Engineering. Appealing XF example with bold ink and a neat contemporary annotation on the left edge.
