This later issue Massachusetts note was redeemable in Spanish milled dollars by December 31, 1786 with 5% interest. The exchange rate for these bills was $40 in older Continental Currency for every $1. Printed in red and black ink by Hall and Sellers with a similar style to Continental Currency, especially the emblems on the reverse. The paper is watermarked “UNITED STATES”. This example bears the signature of Loammi Baldwin, an American soldier, politician, and the father of American Civil Engineering. Attractive note well deserving of the PPQ designation from PCGS. Incredible ink and signatures.
