The paper bears a watermark “CONFEDERATION” in 2 lines. The guarantee signature on this note is Nicholas Gilman. This $1 note was the lowest denomination of the series. Lovely problem free AU example of this sought after issue, with bold ink, light paper and nice signatures. Very scarce with only 2,900 originally printed and 21 known to survive today.
