This New Hampshire note was printed in red and black ink by Hall and Sellers. The border cuts and emblems of this note were engraved by Henry Dawkins, who was a former counterfeiter for the Tories. The paper bears a watermark “CONFEDERATION” in 2 lines. The reverse features emblems and mottos similar to Continental currency. Incredibly scarce, of 2,900 originally printed only 7 uncanceled specimens are known to survive today. These notes are almost always seen with a hole cancel. Lovely circulated example with clean original paper. A key addition for any colonial collection.
