This early June 22, 1756 issue is known at the “Fourth War Issue” and was passed to replaced worn bills from prior issues. Printed in red and black ink by James Parker in Woodbridge on thick paper containing blue thread. This bill features the state arms and a sun face on the front and nature print on the reverse. High denomination notes from this early issue are incredibly scarce. 1,250 of these 3 Pound bills were originally printed and only 11 are known to exist today. Lovely problem free circulated example with honest wear and bold ink remaining, especially on the front. High quality for the grade well deserving of the evergreen sticker from GCC.
