45,000 Pounds worth of bills were printed in the early March 25, 1755 New York issue. This issue was passed to fund the first expedition to Crown Point. A large state arms can be seen on the right side with a death threat to counterfeiters underneath. The top borderreused the plate from the December 10, 1737 issue. Uniquely, the abbreviation for number is “NUMB” in this issue. Printed by James Parker on light paper with dark course paper backs. Interestingly, Owen Sullivan was hanged in New York City in 1756 for counterfeiting bills from this issue. At the time of his execution he would not disclose the location of his counterfeit printing plates. Incredibly scarce note, of the 2,092 originally printed, only 3 examples are known to survive today. This is the finest graded example by PMG, TOP POP PMG. An elite addition for any colonial collector.
