The factional denominations of the March 5, 1776 New York issue, such as this $1/2 bill had smaller emblems and were printed on thick paper by Samuel Loudon. The front has the state arms and intricately engraved borders. The reverse of this bill features an emblem of a tree being planted encircled by the Latin motto “POSTERITATE” (For posterity). Interesting Latin motto on this note printed shortly before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Honest VF example of this sought after 1776 note.
