New York Colonial Note Fr#NY-190 March 5, 1776 $2/3 PMG 30 *Nice example*
The bills of the New York March 5, 1776 issue were similar to the September 2, 1775 issue but featured new fractional denominations such as this $2/3 note. The factional notes had smaller emblems and were printed on thick paper by Samuel Loudon. The emblem of an eagle encircled by the latin motto “FORTIS A FORTE” (Strength comes from strength) can be seen on the reverse. Beautiful problem free and low denomination example with bold ink, detailed boarders, and nice eye appeal.
Signers: Cornelius Ray, William Heyer
