New York Colonial Note Fr#NY-198 August 13, 1776 $1/16 PCGS 30
This note was printed by Samuel Loudon on thick paper. The front has the New York Arms with “Tis Death to counterfeit” beneath. While all other notes in this issue have a reverse bearing an emblem and latin motto, this $1/16 note uniquely has an all typeset reverse and is the smallest denomination of the issue. This example has strikingly good eye appeal and some of the boldest black ink that I have seen on any colonial note.
Signers: Alexander Webster, Matthew Adgate
