The April 18, 1786 issue is very scarce and was printed by Samuel Loudon using engravings by Peter R. Maverick. The front features elaborate borders and the new state arms with the motto “EXCELSIOR”. This issue experienced heavy counterfeiting which lead to an early redemption making authentic examples such as this note very scarce today. Of 24,000 originally printed, only 9 are known to survive today. Previously a part of the iconic Eric P. Newman Collection.
